Texas Wildcatters part time assisstaint coach and Husky alumni Leon Hayward had this to say about Chad via e-mail: "I think that Chad was coming down here to be a depth guy for us as we approach the play-offs. We have a bunch of guys that are still up with AHL teams and we needed some skill and depth for the stretch drive."
Chad has still only played two games with the Wildcatters

Cronin reaction to Shawn McEachern
Like mentioned in earlier posts Assistaint coach Shawn McEachern has decided to leave the Northeastern hockey program.
"He thought it was time to move on." Coach Greg Cronin said. "I don't know what he's going to do. He is a talented guy, he can coach. He is a good person, he just wanted to move forward."
We will do out best to keep on eye on the moves of McEachern and let you know where he lands.

Jim Russo Has Left the Portland Pirates
Jim Russo has left the Portland Pirates of the AHL to go after other opportunities. "I'm talking to a bunch of other teams right now" Russo said in a telephone interview with the NU News.
Russo did not play in any game for the Pirates, an affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks.
As soon as Russo signs somewhere we will let you know right here.

Chad Costello has left the program
After a rough sophomore slump Chad Costello has left the program. Even though his name still appears on the roster, Costello has signed a deal with the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL.
I had a chance to speak to Chad earlier today. Academics seemed to be part of the issue for him deciding to leave, "I am not the greatest student. I have had some troubles in school." Costello said.
Texas and him had connected and after the season was over after the playoff loss to Vermont he made the decision to go pro.
"My agent talked to the coach, the coach said he would like to bring me in, so I decided to come here." Costello said.
In terms of Husky connections, he has not had a chance to work with Leon Hayward, a former Husky, who is a part time assistant with the program.
Texas is 50-7-4-4 on the season to this point. Costello will wear number 79 with the team. Costello seemed happy in Texas and said he is playing with a great group of guys. Judging by that record, I imagine spirits are high on that team.
"You know I'm really proud of what Chad did academically, he did a good job here while he was here. He's a good kid and a good hockey player but his ice time was getting diminished as the season went a long. He's a real passionate hockey player and he felt that he wanted to really focus on playing hockey going to a place where he was going to play." Coach Greg Cronin said over the phone to the Northeastern News.
"It was really hard to leave [Northeastern]. Leaving my friends and the guy on the team but I feel like this is the right decision to make."
